How You Can Start Exercising The Smart Way

By Brandon Arrow

There are many health benefits that have been linked to exercising a minimum of 30 minutes every day. Reducing weight gain, which on its own can cause many problems, is probably the most well-known benefit. By exercising the smart way you can increase energy levels while reducing stress, something just about everyone could use these days.

The benefits from working out for only 30 minutes a day are more than worth this minimal investment of time. Because it is such a short amount of time, it's important to make sure you're getting the most out of your routine. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by combining cardio training with a full body workout.

Many people probably think it's impossible to get both a full body workout and a cardio workout from just one 30 minute routine. However, there are quite a few workouts that would accomplish this, so it's likely you'll find something to suit your needs. Running is one of the most basic exercises that meet these requirements. For something more exciting, you could take a friend to check out any of the new dances classes. Perhaps kettlebells might be more your speed if you prefer to work out alone.

Running, even though it seems quite basic, is still one of the best total body workouts. It is definitely not just for working out your legs. In addition to providing a superior cardio workout, running actually engages your entire core and requires all of your muscles to work together. Because there's no special equipment or pricey gym membership required, it's a great workout for beginners.

Joining with friends to take a class can really help with staying motivated. Some newer classes actually provide instruction on Latin-based dances that give a great cardio workout. For those that love dancing, but find exercise to be boring and monotonous, this could be the answer.

Many people may have heard of kettlebells, but don't seem to be aware of the great workout a 20-30 minute routine can provide. The weights themselves are purposely off balance and the routines involve various swinging motions. These workouts provide an intense cardio aspect and engage more muscles than you would with a basic set of free weights.

No matter if you're running, Latin dancing, doing a kettlebell routine or engaging in another workout option, getting 20-30 minutes of exercise each day is very important. Be sure you're exercising the smart way by adding cardio to your total body routine. Working out every day will eventually become just another part of your daily routine, and soon you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
