Men and women can now learn to love a rainy night if they have the right frizz fighting hair products on standby. Curly or wavy looks can react poorly to humid conditions, and no one wants to be forced to endure the stereotypical bad hair day. Such days can create a terrible first impression, and even cause friends or coworkers to think the person is ill or just not all together.

In the past many have just brushed a palm-size glob of body lotion into their curls in order to keep them calmed down. Unfortunately, this technique can all-too-easily backfire by weighing down their waves or flattening their curls. Not only that, but lotions can actually dry it out, causing the problem of frizziness and static fly-away to actually get much worse, especially at the ends.

A product called a smoothing milk has become the favored option for many individuals. This is often advertised specifically to be used with a hair straightener. Smoothing milk is good advice, as these heat straighteners can cause naturally wavy or curly types to become fly-away at the ends and unmanageable in the presence of static.

Mousses are another excellent choice, and often the preference for those with medium thick locks that they wear long. Curl enhancing mousses are especially good if one is wishing to embrace the curl into full ringlets. This is an excellent product for those who live in more humid climates, as the wetter the air is, the more their locks will curl.

Let us not overlook the option of gels. These days, these are not the same products that parents and grandparents used to make their hair stiff, sticky, or greasy on purpose. There are gels on the market today which hold up well to styling and leave the do looking soft and full, especially when one sports long waves.

Oils are the new kids on the block, and they certainly have their place. Most advertise that they contain protein, keratin, or both, and are actually good for supplementing locks that have seen one too many mornings under a blow-dryer. These oils are pricey, but a little bit goes a long way in order to avoid looking greasy.

Shoppers on a budget might try contacting manufacturers directly to see if they can order trial sizes of their product. This technique is so much better than throwing away hundreds of dollars on something that may or may not deliver what it claims. The online community is also a great place to find ratings and conversations by consumers who have already tested an item.

It is vital to point out that ingredients do matter to most people when one is shopping around for options. Many brands still contain petrochemicals which in some cases can cause ill-health or allergic reactions for many people. Parabens and other petroleum products are something many consumers may wish to avoid, so be sure and read the list of ingredients before you buy.
