The 5 Tibetan Rituals And Youth And Vitality

By Trevor Johnson

The 5 Tibetan Rituals, also called the 5 Tibetan Rites were detailed in Peter Kelder's Book The Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth published in 1985. This book discussed the exercise program developed by Tibetan monks and made them look young for years and live long and healthy lives.

These exercises are said to be responsible for several benefits including looking younger, sleeping more soundly at night, waking up in the morning and feeling ready to go, and relief from chronic pain. Some of the other things that are possible is an improved memory, arthritis relief, better vision, reduction of wrinkles, more strength and endurance, and better emotional and mental health.

Tibetans believe in seven major chakras that develop good health for the body and mind. These chakras make the endocrine system function properly stimulating the glands so that everything works well. If this system works well all the other organs in the body will continue to function properly and the body will be healthy.

The seven major chakras are the root (base of the spine), sacral (navel), solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye (center of forehead), and crown (top of the head). The chakras are linked together with all other systems in the body. The speed in which the chakra spins is relevant to vibrant health so they must spin fast. They must also spin in coordination with each other so it creates harmony within the body. Therefore if the heart chakra isn't spinning as well as the rest of the chakras you may have a heart problem. If the root isn't spinning well you can have spine related difficulties and if the sacral chakra is out of kilter the stomach may be an issue. All must spin relatively the same in order to achieve harmony.

The five rituals or the exercises have several movements including spinning, kneeling on the ground, lying on the ground, moving the arms and legs, and raising the whole body up. Some of the exercises are easy including the spinning in place with arms out one and they run to the more difficult to lifting the body from a lying position with arms and legs. Some of the exercises are difficult for people with bad health. Make sure to inform the doctor that you are going to start this regimen. They are yoga so find an instructor of yoga that can teach you how to do them. Start slowly by doing only 3 each at a time and then increase to 21 but never do more than that. The whole regimen takes 10 to 20 minutes to do.

There may be some adverse affects from the exercises since they are designed to cleanse. You may have detoxification symptoms such as intestinal problems or you might have an odor when sweating. Others experience some flu-like symptoms. Most people in good health will experience none of these. The 5 Tibetan Rituals will keep you going strong and looking youthful while you do it for a long time.
