One should however know that there are various disadvantages associated with sun self tanning.



Some studies have indicated that too much exposure to UV rays can lead to one having different kinds of skin cancer. There can also be a very bad effect on the immune system, thus it may not function well. It is essential for an individual to evaluate all the pros and cons of self tanning before they can indulge in this practice on their self. Research on tanning will enable a person to make an informed decision.

The various self tan alternatives are not permanent; a person may thus end up sunbathing very often in order to achieve the tan they desire. This may pose great damage to someone in the future and they may end up having permanent damage of their skin. This is a very costly problem to an individual.



Self skin tanning poses a great danger to an individual. A person who does this is likely to age faster. In addition, premature wrinkles also start to appear in various parts of the body. The skin also begins to appear dry and rough due to exposure to harsh sun rays.

Sunburns as the name suggests are burns that occur because of exposure to sunlight. There are some cases where it may be severe while other times it may not be serious. When it is severe, it is very painful and the skin becomes very red due to such burns. One has to stay indoors in order to recover before they can go out and if they go out, they have to wear a hat. To avoid this condition one should ensure that they stay away from too much sunlight.

Individuals have a certain skin color, which suits them best. Self skin tanning can lead to one losing the color of their skin and instead of being brown; it becomes red owing to exposure to the sun. It may be very difficult for one to find a way of regaining back their original skin color.

Several people have sensitive skin and are required not to expose themselves to too much sunlight for a long time. Some of this people do not follow the instructions of the doctor and they end up tanning their skin in sun rays due to their desire for beauty. They may thus develop serious blisters that can be very painful and take a long time to get well.

Sun self tanning is not advisable due to varied types of health problems it may cause to an individual. It is therefore important for a client to avoid self skin tanning in the sunlight due to these problems. Avoiding self tanning can enable a person to have a great skin without any complications.
