Everyone does it. You may be spending your worked day slouched over your desk, walking with a curved spine or letting your shoulders sag forward. You respect the importance of having good posture but you never seem to have the energy for it. These are all seemingly meaningless mistakes that greatly increase the likelihood of chronic back pain.

Unless you have a degenerative disease or an injury, your back pain is probably the result of your daily routine. To limit the likelihood of chronic back pain, area chiropractors suggest implementing a chiropractic plan for maintaining spinal alignment and health.

Eat the Right Foods

Try to drink herbal, green, oolong and white teas. Olive oil, green tea, and brighter fruits and vegetables can reduce inflammation in the cartilage within your spinal column, and this reduces stiffness and pain. Another food choice that can help keep spinal bones strong is eating foods rich in calcium and vitamin D. Load up on milk, leafy greens, yogurt and vitamin supplements for a calcium boost. You can increase your Vitamin D intake by eating fatty fish, beef liver, cheese and egg yolks.

Limit Back Strain

You can alleviate spinal strain and stress in many different ways. Start by maintaining a balanced body weight. You should additionally stress muscles that are stiff and sore and work to build your back muscles up. Leave your heavy purse at home to avoid misalignment issues and muscle strain on a single side of your body. You should also work to get regular and good quality sleep as well.

Sleeping to Avoid Lower Back Pain

When you go to bed, be mindful of your position so that you aren't waking up with back pain each day. Put a pillow in between your knees when sleeping on your side so that your bottom leg is never crossed by the top one. People who sleep on their backs should place pillows on their knees. For added support, you can also support your spine with a rolled towel.

Choose The Right Shoes

Wearing comfortable shoes with low heals can alleviate pain and discomfort while you walk and stand. Always choose footwear that has a heel of less than one inch.
