The Power of Positive Attitude

By Bill Hansen

I am going to ask you to something a bit strange. To begin with, I really want you to hear your thoughts. Now tell me, what thoughts fill your mind? Can you label them as positive, or negative?

Now let's say you are walking across the street with one of these thoughts. Do you think anybody who would meet you could tell you what's in your thoughts?

The solution to number one can be you. But, the answer to #2 could be pretty generic. However, it will not be able to tell you exactly what you believe, they'll more or less have an idea of how you are feeling.

Here's another question. When you enter an event full of friends, do they all fall silent as if something terrible has happened? Or does everybody there wait for something exciting to occur?

And this positive attitude you now carry could be of great benefit to other people. Sometimes when other people feel down, the one thing people mostly do is attempt to provide them with advice. But sometimes, all they need is somebody to sit down by them, and pay attention to them. For those who have an optimistic attitude you might be able to cheer them up without even needing to say anything.

If a positive attitude is actually great, why do people choose to adopt an adverse attitude instead? An individual who has a negative attitude might be actually sending an indication for attention. Before you get me wrong, feeling sad, angry, or gloomy isn't wrong in itself. But dwelling on these thoughts for too much time isn't healthy either. There is a time for joy as well as a time for you to mourn.

As always, if you are beset by troubles, even just in your darkest hour, target the good stuff in life. Then you will also have hope. Problems become challenges, or something you are able to overcome them.

You don't have much to lose by adopting an optimistic attitude. Studies show that this kind of attitude actually retards aging, makes you healthier, helps you develop a better stress coping mechanism, and it has a really positive effect on all of the people you meet every day. So, what's not to like in regards to a positive attitude? Adopt one today.
