Pain will have a damaging impact on the individual who is hurting. Sometimes pain is a natural part of the aging process. Other times it is due to carelessness. However, Kent chiropractic sees many people walk through their door because one individual has caused a situation that resulted in a serious personal injury.

It may have been an inebriated driver, a medical malpractice event or a deliberate act such as one person pushing another down and hurting his or her back. Car accidents, especially rear-end collisions are noted for causing whiplash. Or, a surgeon might inadvertently cause harm through carelessness.

At some future time, you may consider taking legal action against the person who caused your injury. You may want to use the medical record taken by your chiropractor to detail how the injury affected you. The care may have relieved your pain. However, recovery does not erase the pain and inconvenience you endured.

When you make an appointment with your chiropractor, it will begin with an in-depth discussion about the injury that is causing your pain. You can explain when it started and how it occurred. You will be examined. Spinal care and rehabilitation are the primary focus of the chiropractic profession.

If the spine is damaged, it can cause pain in any part of your body. That is because all the nerve roots are located in the spinal cord. The pain will be traceable to one or more of the vertebrae. These are the small bones that encase and protect the spinal cord. Whiplash can be traced to a subluxation of the cervical vertebrae.

After your condition is thoroughly evaluated, your care can be planned. Usually, spinal adjustments are recommended to correct any misalignment of the vertebrae. The traditional method is done by delivering a series of thrusting motions while the body is in various positions. Spinal mobilization is another method. In some cases, both are used in combination during each appointment. The goal is to alleviate the pain you are feeling.
