The Best Facial Exercises For Eyes

Everyone hopes to age gracefully with minimal damage to their face caused by wrinkling and drooping. Skin loses its elasticity over time and one of the first noticeable places this happens is around the eyes. Expensive creams, fillers, Botox and cosmetic surgery are viable solutions for some people but not everyone can afford to be this extravagant. The alternate and far more natural solution is facial exercises for eyes.

Wrinkles can appear in your eye area from squinting, smoking, excessive exposure to the sun and from sleeping on your face. Those who work in outdoor professions need to wear sun screen on a daily basis to protect their skin. Reading, smoking and exposure to the sun without sun glasses causes people to squint and this will cause crow's feet to form on the side of the face.

Starting eye aerobics before the damage is done is the best way to ensure good results but many of the techniques available can help diminish lines that are already present. Practicing these muscle contractions twice daily has been shown to lessen the appearance of laugh lines, puffiness and drooping lids. Participants must remember to be careful when practicing these rituals because the skin surrounding your eye is very fragile and can be damaged or further wrinkled if stretched or rubbed too roughly. Some of this problem can be alleviated by using a moisturizer prior to beginning the process of exercise movements. Some advocates recommend using water in place of creams while exercising your face.

Eye tapping is one form of exercising this area. This exercise helps to reduce puffiness around the eye by stimulating blood flow to the area. Using the pad of your fingers begin tapping in the corner of your eye nearest the nose. Gently tap the area just under the eye working to the outer edge near the temple and back again five to ten times for each eye.

For tension relief in the face and eye area there is a specific exercise available. Simply use two fingers to gently pinch up the skin around the brow and gently roll the two sides together to ease tension and stress. Another simple practice used for diminishing wrinkles is to place the index fingers of both hands on either side of a line and gently apply pressure for a count of ten. Repeat this action twice daily in sets of ten and you should notice improvement of lines treated.

The trickiest exercise to perform affects the under-eye muscles on your face. Keeping these muscles strong will greatly enhance a youthful appearance. This exercise should be practiced in front of a mirror to ensure effectiveness. Look into the mirror and slowly attempt to lift your eyelids in a series of small steps. When you begin try to achieve three steps while working to advance to a total of five movements. This process takes a mind set of determination, strength, and concentration to accomplish but will be worth it in long term appearance improvement.

All exercise programs take time to show results and these are no different but if you are diligent and continue doing them daily the long term results may combat obvious signs of aging and save money spent on unnecessary surgeries and expensive treatments.
