Having a disease and living with it is not something friends wish one another. In fact, some people would rather prefer something else happen to their enemies than living with a terminal disease such as AIDS. Because this disease needs an urgent intervention whenever it is noticed, one has to watch out for the signs of the sickness. If any of these signs are noticed, then it important to seek the help of HIV support group NYC.

One of the signs is a fever. Fever is an early sign that happens because the body tries to respond to the attack made by the virus. As the virus goes through the bloodstream, the body develops some inflammatory responses which include swelling of lymph gland and sore throat. The person also becomes weak.

Extreme fatigue develops in the later stage of the attack. The person infected easily feels like giving up when doing some strenuous exercise. This happens because the immune system is being depressed. In fact, it is even possible for the sufferer to gasp for breath.

The swelling of lymph nodes is as a result of the white blood cells' response to fight the virus. They try to multiply and gather around the lymph nodes leading to their inflammation. This can be noticed in places such as the armpit, neck, and groins where lymph nodes are situated. Unfortunately, this attempt may not be successful without the help of antiretroviral drugs.

The presence of rash on the skin could also be another sign. It is true that rashes can occur just as a result of heat but some are more than that. People with rashes on their skin have to visit a nearby hospital to have them inspected as it could be more than what it looks like. There would be more reasons to suspect the worse if the rashes look like boils with a pink color.

When HIV attacks and nothing is done about it on time, some later stage symptoms will develop. This can be found on the eyes, kidneys, brain, skin and digestive tract. In women, oral vagina candidiasis may occur while in both sexes, pneumonia and tuberculosis are common. Therefore, knowing one's status is necessary and those early signs must not be taken for granted.

As for women, their menstrual cycle can range more significantly. Some may have heavier periods while others may have it lighter. In some cases, the period may not even show in a particular month. Symptoms that come before menstruation can also be more painful.

If these symptoms are not taken care of on time, more advanced symptoms may emerge. These can include diarrhea, mental confusion, short-term memory, and coma. Since these things can actually be avoided by doing an early test and contacting support groups, there is no need to waste time. Not knowing your HIV status is more dangerous than knowing it and whether you are in NYC or not, these support groups can always come to your rescue.
