The medical and scientific fields are intertwined in a number of ways. When it comes to biomedicines, a branch of medical science, the connection applies to biological and physiological aspects of the human body. When looking at either of these aspects, the practice is extremely important in medical research studies.

While biomedicine has been around and used for over a century, the field has recently become popular as being part of the overall health care system. For, the practice relates to different areas of the health care field. Whereas, the practice always relates to diseases and illnesses which are related to biology and physiology.

Currently, biomedicine is at the forefront of research and studies related to biochemistry, cell biology, biological laboratory engineering, medical biology, immunology, parasitology, physiology, toxicology, anatomy, pathology, gene therapy, genetics, neuroscience, bioinformatics, bioscience, cryogenics, systems biology and biostatistics. Basically, biomedicine is involved in the research or treatment of any conditions which present at the cellular or molecular level.

Medical biology has long been the cornerstone of modern health care and laboratory tests. In addition, in-vitro fertilization would not be possible without this area of study. Though, as a result of studies in this area, a number of individuals whom could not have given birth through the natural process are now happy parents.

Biomedicine has also been researched, studied and used in the treatment of molecular mechanisms and conditions which include HIV and Cystic Fibrosis. In the process of biomedical research and the study of these conditions, medical professionals now have a better understanding of all symptoms which present at the molecular level. Whereas, the development of, and research relating to, cancer are also part and parcel to this area of biomedical research.

Depending on the severity of the disease, biomedicine has the ability to pinpoint specific issues within an individual. After which, the issue can be treated through a number of different options. Whereas, as medical biomedicine places attention on curing a disease instead of improving health, doctors are hopeful that a number of these treatments will eventually lead to a cure.

Pathogens are another area of study when it comes to biomedicine and research studies. For, by using test results from biology and physiology, researchers and scientists can often discover which diseases respond to various medications and other treatment forms. As such, doctors, scientists and researchers hope to gain a better understanding of disease and illnesses at the molecular level. After which, health care providers are hopeful that the research will lead to cures for a number of diseases and illnesses.

The biomedical field is different when it comes to the field of psychiatry, psychology and psychotherapy. For, while the practice can be used in these areas when involving medication, routines are very different from standard medical practice and research studies. At the same time, when looking through the lens of anthropology, biomedicine does have the ability to extend well beyond the areas of scientific fact.

Biomedicine looks at biology during synthesis and has the ability to regulate RNA, DNA and protein cells in the human body. Whereas, as the practice is essential to polymerase chain reaction, gel electrophoresis, macromolecule blotting and the manipulation of DNA. As such, biomedicine remains an active and important aspect of the overall health care system.
