The Concepts Of And Behind Spirituality Metaphysics

By Mark West

While some people see the physical world as a single entity, others believe in a secondary spiritual world. In either case, the term spirituality metaphysics is often associated with New Age practitioners and beliefs. As such, a clear explanation or definition of the term is non-existent.

In most cases, New Age beliefs are not tied to any specific religious organizations or perspectives. In fact, most people involved in these practices maintain a pantheist point of view in which God is, and can be found in everything. Whereas, metaphysics refers to the concept of ultimate reality with regards to the fundamental concepts of existence.

The more familiar term spiritual is often used to refer to the non-physical aspects of the human condition. As a result, the combination of spirituality and metaphysics suggest that life is in fact a metaphysical rather than a physical experience. As a result, those involved in these practices tend to live life as spiritual beings rather than physical ones.

The view that all are one and one are all stems from these New Age practices. While theological and philosophical ideologies and theories can become tangled up in these beliefs, each still maintain specific definitions and objective boundaries. In most cases, this is because most philosophical perspectives are only theories while most theologies see body, mind and spirit as separate entities.

When it comes to the metaphysical aspects of the Universe, it can often be difficult to comprehend. While this is the case, spiritual metaphysics is the study of the nature of human experience outside of the physical body in which technology, research and physical senses can not be measured.

Longtime spiritual beliefs and ancient religious practices have attempted though failed to explain the human experience. For, almost all organized religions have arisen based on the belief that the physical and spiritual aspects of the body are separate and apart from one another. As a result, most individuals now recognize these as separate entities within oneself while also seeing oneself as being separate and apart from God, and other human beings in the physical universe.

In seeing oneself and others from this perspective, it becomes more difficult to understand the physical experience it its natural form. Whereas, the life force many refer to as God, a higher power or powers often gets lost in the process. As such, it can then be difficult to grasp an understanding as to the ultimate purpose human kind has on earth.

As science delves deeper into reality and the truth of human existence, it becomes clearer that the physical world is more metaphysical or non-physical at its core. For, the line between the spiritual and physical realities is being erased on an ongoing basis. As a result, it is becoming more clear that the separation of the physical and spiritual self or body, mind and spirit is nothing more than an illusion.

As all things are connected in one way or another, these concepts of separation are clearly man-made definitions people have used to describe different aspects of the human mind. Whereas, metaphysics and spirituality have brought human kind closer to understanding how all things are connected. As a result, individuals are now learning that while there may be differences between body, mind and spirit, all are connected, and not only to oneself but the world at large.
