Anti wrinkle cream ingredients are responsible for the effectiveness of the anti wrinkle products. You may feel confused seeing the plethora of products in the market. Improvement in the appearance of your skin depends on how long you use the product and the amount and type of the active ingredients in them.

The first antioxidant that is commonly used in wrinkle creams is Retinol, a vitamin A compound. Unstable oxygen molecules or Free radicals are responsible for wrinkles as they break down the skin cells. Since Retinol is an antioxidant, it neutralizes free radicals. Tretinoin is yet another derivative of Vitamin A. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved it as a topical treatment for treating wrinkles but is available only by recommendation.

Other prominent anti wrinkle cream ingredients derived from sugar containing fruits are Alpha hydroxy acids, Beta hydroxy acids and Poly hydroxy acids. They are substances which function as exfoliants, i.e, they remove the upper layer of old, dead skin and encourage the growth of smooth, evenly pigmented new skin. Coenzyme Q10 is another important ingredient, which helps energy production in cells. Studies have shown that it helps in reducing fine wrinkles around the eyes and its application before sun exposure also protects against sun damage.

When skin care products are applied to the skin, the traces of copper present in every cell of our body combines themselves with small protein fragments called peptides. Copper peptides carry inherent properties of healing wounds, stimulating the production of collagen and enhancing the action of antioxidants. Wrinkles and uneven pigmentation can also be improved with the least irritation by Kinetin, which is a plant growth factor. By retaining the moisture of skin and stimulating the production of collagen, it helps in reducing wrinkles.

Tea extracts especially the Green and Black Tea extracts are also great Anti wrinkle cream ingredients. Rich quantities of Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties are found in green, black and oblong tea. The most common ingredient used in wrinkle creams is however Green tea extracts. All you need to do is to show little patience and take the time to read the ingredients before buying the product which can save you from endless troubles later on.
