At times people who are beating depression feel that they need to contain a value element when getting together with new people. How's this "value element" developed?. Basically the reply to this for me is that it is an inside job. You must think of yourself as being a person who has value on this planet. You must think of yourself as a individual that can assist another person.

If you happen to be a brain surgeon or perhaps a CEO of a company and you also make contact with people regularly. It is inevitable that others will have their own opinions about you internally. Maybe a individual who is a an entrepreneur and is highly successful on a financial basis but doesn't spend time with his family may not be regarded as somebody of worth by other folks. This is the reason it becomes an inside job. Whenever you think of yourself as a valuable person who stands up for what you believe in, by having good values, etc, then people will understand this and become intrigued by you.

Having Strength of mind is crucial. For being content with who you are.

Consider This Crucial Life Principle: Be - Do - Have

"Be" refers to belief. Recognize you're wonderful & treasured. Secondly do the things and behave in a way that supports your values. Lastly is simply Have. You will have the results, good human relationships, a sound body, the good of all things,etc. By only standing for whom you are, this tends to attract like-minded men and women to you.

Ultimately if you want to be free, you must be yourself. Not the individual you feel your partner thinks you need to be, not the person you feel your young ones think you should be. And even more importantly, not that person you feel society thinks you should be. Ultimately if you want to be free, you will need to be yourself, period.

What I mean by this is individual reasoning, individual hobbies, individual likes/dislikes. Certainly you ought to help the "big group" and you must pay attention to them, you must come to their aid, you have to encourage them when asked but you must never mould yourself into the main group. By conforming to the big group, one is at risk of sacrificing their personality which is negative because one could get depressed being a person that they do not wish to be.

Just stick up for your values and never change your identity. This can be essentially the most fundamental law when defeating depression symptoms. Good Luck!
