Bootcamp workouts have come very far in the last few years. They used to be based on a hard core marine training with a drill instructor decked out in all the garb as I remember. They would march around and yell commands and I supposed that's what it took to get some people into shape!

Now days you have plenty of options to choose from and the typical boot camp is more like outdoor personal training with a small group of all different fitness levels.

First things first, your trainer should maintain a fast pace with little rest in between the exercise sets. If you want faster weight loss, this will be one of your secrets to getting the results you are looking for.

Next, don't miss out on full-body, strength and resistance moves, not just "targeting" small muscle groups. For example, a push up is better to do than just a tricep extension, because you will get more muscle working at the same time. That means more calories being burned up faster!

Then, make sure your boot camp instructor will meet you at your level. As you progress and get into greater and great shape, your workout will have to keep up with you or your body toning results will come to a stand still. After a few weeks of training, you will undoubtedly be able to do more reps with less rest, and you'll want to be continually challenged by your instructor.

Thousands of people have used boot camp style workouts to get into great shape. if you haven't tried one yet, what are you waiting for? Your area most likely has several boot camps to choose from.

Find a boot camp in your area and give it a try. You will like the variety of the workouts, and the different atmosphere. This will keep you workouts fresh, and that means you'll keep coming back for more. Now drop and give me 20!
