The NFIT or the needle free injection technology is a type of concept where in the drug is being delivered into the skin through the use of any forces which include Shock waves, Lorentz, or electrophoresis that will propel the drugs through a persons skin. This new technology may not only benefit the pharma industries but will also develop and make it more useful specifically for immunization programs, avoiding the injuries, and also avoiding some other complications.

The devices used on this are classified into different drug delivery mechanisms, working, delivery sites, and loads. For administering a stable, effective, and safe dose by the use of no needle injector, three components are needed to be considered most importantly and these include the drug sterility, viscosity, and shelf life. The manufacturing of NFIT devices may be done in several ways, but molding technique is the most common in use.

Unlike those traditional syringes, these devices have other forms which can be reusable. One of the purposes of this technology is to ensure a painless and efficient delivery of drugs. The following are the other important advantages of a needle free injection rather than a needle based syringe.

First is making the patients accept it more without complaints. Most patients have aversions on needles and they often think on physical discomforts that they may be experiencing. An advantage here is to reduce their feeling of discomfort and pain. And also, their experiences might be improved, thus, having the courage to push other patients in presenting themselves for therapy.

Second is to decrease risks for penetration of veins and delivery of medications to an unintended site. Techniques which are applied for delivery of medications to desired sites using syringes and needles depend upon the selection of the needles in a proper way. This also depends upon the healthcare worker skills.

Third is to improve efficacy since there are a lot of different ways for distribution of drugs. Syringes are typically depositing the drugs to desired areas in the tissues. A disadvantage on this is the possible delay of depositing since the dispersion for the tissues is lacking, and thus, requiring some added injections for reaching the farther areas.

Fourth is enhancing the response of vaccine immune. The needle free injection is said to have the ability of enhancing the immunogenicity which is composed of commercial vaccines and also vaccines which are under certain developments currently. Fifth is the differences of the used techniques and also the reliability. This is reliable since the penetration depth can easily be determined rather than seeing it based on needle syringe technique.

Sixth, risks of needles will be removed and as well unintended sites contamination. The highest concern for hospitals, patients, and for healthcare professionals is needles safety. Some healthcare professionals having previous experiences of a needles injuries surely have felt fear, emotional distress, and anxiety.

And lastly is the management of safety and waste of injection. Even if most healthcare systems are continuing to do a better and stronger training for people, challenges still cannot be avoided specifically for medical waste and contaminated needles. These problems are exposing the patients, communities, and health workers.
