The Linden chiropractor believes that the reason why many car accident victims have no pain symptoms immediately after the collision is because their bodies are in shock. The body goes into shock following a traumatic incident in order to protect further injury from occurring. The body releases adrenaline into the blood vessels immediately following a traumatic experience but once the adrenaline wears off the pain symptoms will soon follow.

The body, immediately following the accident, releases adrenaline into the system which masks the sensation of pain. However, when the adrenaline wears off pain will start to surface and the victim will realize that he has sustained injuries from the automobile accident. This is why it is unfair to accuse car accident victims of faking their injuries only after they have decided to sue the other motorist.

One of the most common injuries suffered in a traffic wreck is whiplash, which is an injury to the neck. The small, delicate, ligaments and tendons located in the neck were not created to sustain the impact of a traffic collision. Whiplash occurs when the tendons and ligaments in the neck are stretched past their normal range.

Chiropractors use gentle, low-force, therapy to help ease the pain associated with whiplash. They may also use hot and cold compress therapy to ease inflammation and increase circulation to the injured parts of the body. A new healing method employed by chiropractors to help whiplash patients is called "electronic muscle stimulation". The therapy sends deep electrical impulses below the skin to stimulate healing and recovery.

The primary symptoms of whiplash include headaches, neck pain, and pain in the jawbone. Patients with whiplash should expect two to three therapies per week for a month to a month and a half. The pain should start to diminish after two weeks of therapy.

The Linden chiropractor helps men and women who have been in automobile accidents and have suffered injuries such as whiplash. Many people who are involved in car wrecks might go days before feeling pain because their body is in shock. But once the adrenaline wears off pain symptoms are sure to surface.
