For most people calorie counting and sticking to a diet doesn't work for them. In the end, many of those people end up losing a bit of weight, but tend to put it all back on again the moment they stop their diet. As a result people tend to go in circles dieting, gaining and losing weight, which isn't good. It is possible to lose weight the right way and then keep it off in the long run. It's possible all down to one thing: cardiovascular exercise.

You may feel slightly exhausted when you first start doing cardio exercise. When you do exercise your muscles demand oxygen to work and your respiratory system isn't usually used to the increase, which is why this happens. It does get easier with the more exercise you do though. It's common to feel warm and sweaty when you start off walking. Your face might also go red and you'll probably need to catch your breath slightly. Because of this you'll intake more air into your lungs, meaning more oxygen can be supplied around your body for doing the exercise. When you keep doing exercise regularly you'll quickly notice that you're not gasping for air as much. This is a sign that your respiratory system is adapting to the increase exercise, which will make you feel a lot more energized.

Strengthening your muscles that are used when doing basic exercises is the aim of improving your cardiovascular fitness. As your fitness level increases you will notice that you're not out of breath so often. Your levels of energy should greatly improve as you get fitter too, which will enable you to walk down to the shops or take the dog out for a walk each day. Maintaining a good healthy weight is a lot easier once your cardiovascular fitness has improved. As you do more exercise every day you won't have to be so strict on what you eat.

There are small physical activities that you can do each and every day and can improve your bike tour fitness levels. You can do grueling exercises for hours, but it is not necessary. Instead, it should mean finding ways to include a brisk walk in your lunch break or after work. The best exercise you can get is walking, so walk to the places you need to go, instead of driving. If you are not able to walk to the store, then at least find a parking space some distance away, so that you are required to walk farther. As your fitness increases, you'll find it much easier to keep up with your activity levels and even start adding some more.

So, long term results and healthy weight loss depend on your level of cardiovascular activity. However you should not disregard the additional health benefits you'll get either. Your health can be improved greatly by simply increasing your level of fitness slightly. You'll also be able to sleep much easier which means your energy levels will be greater in the day.
