If you are like many people, then you have tried a number of diets, with varying degrees of success. You probably have lost weight, until you get to a specific point, and then you don't lose any more, whatever you do. This plateau is hit by almost everyone and is common amongst the various eating plans. You can't prevent the plateau problem if you don't learn to deceive your metabolism.

It is likely you have already hit the plateau at least once--in fact, it has possibly caused a frustrating end to more than one diet program. The plateau is an odd event and it happens to even the most successful dieters when they get to the third or fourth week of their fat loss programs. Up to that point weight is coming off and then it simply stops, and absolutely nothing works to keep the body slimming down. This is the body responding to the changes you're putting it through. Your body decelerates your rate of metabolism when you reach this point since it wants to protect you from accidental starvation. This, then, will keep you from being able to shed more fat.

This is what makes many people believe that they simply aren't capable of hitting their weight loss goals and they quit. At this stage they go back to eating, and gaining their excess weight back plus even more than they lost usually. The way to stop this is to pick a diet where your calories just get shifted. It means that you eat a different number of calories every day which can help trick your metabolism. If this works, it keeps your body from flipping the switch and getting into protective mode. This helps to keep your body's metabolism working, as opposed to slowing down, and your body goes on to lose fat. As you arrive at this point, you have passed the plateau and your diet will continue to work the way that it was designed to.

It is not tough to work this plan into your daily regimen. One of the most widely used calorie cycling methods is the 14 day method. This program goes for two weeks: you do regular things for the first eleven and then in the last three you eat whatever you want. Rotate your food throughout each day to fool your metabolism and then eat whatever you desire to keep yourself from reaching the plateau. This can also help you from being frustrated with a stringent diet routine. You can continue repeating these 14 days until you truly feel satisfied with the amount of weight you have shed.

The 2 day plan is another excellent plan in which you eat normally for one day and then cut your calories by 20% all the way up to 35%. You do this every two days for as long as it takes you to reach your weight loss goals. This is a program that ought to get your attention because it could be just what you need to pass your plateau and lose all of the weight you wish to lose.
