6 Symptoms Of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are the result of swelling and inflammation of the anal and rectal veins. In the U.S., approximately 75 percent of the population experiences hemorrhoids at some time during their lives. Normally they can be relieved with easy home remedies, but if they continually recur, surgery may be necessary.

So how can you tell if you have hemorrhoids? There are several signs that can give you a hint. However if you even believe you have a hemorrhoid, you still have to visit a doctor, so they can let you know definitely. Following are several symptoms that may occur.

1) Pain - A major sign of hemorrhoids is pain. It may be hemorrhoids if you feel pain when having a bowel movement, or feel pain for a long time after.

2. Itchiness - One hemorrhoid symptom can be rectal itching. The cause of this is moisture and stool on the rectum.

3. Pressure - Another symptom is pressure in the rectal area. The pressure is felt because of the swollen hemorrhoid.

4) Bleeding - Rectal bleeding can be caused by hemorrhoids. This bleeding may take place when you move your bowels. When you pass stools, the pressure can result in bleeding. When the anus is swollen and inflamed, minor injury can occur as the stool passes through.

5) Bulging - At times, there might be bulging felt on the anus with external hemorrhoids. When the stool pushes downward on the anus, this happens.

6. An Anal Lump - A lump can be present on your anus. This occurs when there is a hemorrhoid that is filled with a blood clot. They may have to be surgically removed.

7. Bowel Movements that are Incomplete - You might have hemorrhoids if you usually have incomplete BMs. This means that you go to the bathroom and feel like you still need to go, but you can't.

Hemorrhoids do not present a great many symptoms. So take notice of those that occur. There is something definitely wrong if you feel pain in your anus or rectum area. This doesn't necessarily mean that it is hemorrhoids. There are various other things that can be the reason for the rectum hurting. So if you begin experiencing pain, the first thing to do is to check with a physician.

If you see blood coming out of your rectum, be worried. Also bleeding can originate from different sources. Something as simple as a fissure can cause it. This is a crack in the anal canal lining. You might have rectal polyps or cancer of the rectum. Your doctor can determine what the problem is.

There are simple treatments that can alleviate your hemorrhoids. But be certain that you look after them. However, be certain you handle them with care.
