One old saw says, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” That old quote encouraged scientists to research the benefits of apples and they established that the expression is actually true. Various pieces of research demonstrate that people who eat apples are saved from problems with relation to cardiovascular diseases, like heart disease, stroke, and raised blood pressure.

Investigators from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey submit that munching an apple protects us from the possibility of heart disease. People who ate apples had 27 percent less chance of elevated blood pressure and decreased levels of C-reactive protein.

In 2007, the Iowa Women’s health Study also reported that it has been following more than 34,000 apple-eating women for almost 20 years. Their research showed that apples are related to lower risk of cardiovascular and coronary heart diseases.

Some research carried out in University of Western Australia demonstrated that apples aid in the protectiion of endothelial cells, which keep down perturbation in blood flow and aids the circulation of blood all over the body and so diminishes the risk of cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, and heart failure.

Apples have in them potent antioxidant flavonoid compounds, the likes of epicatechin, quercetin, kaempferol, epigallocatechin, and further polysyllabic marvels.
