Children naturally burn off all their energy through physical activity and they reap the benefits from it. As we age, that level of activity tends to decrease. Many doctors and other experts believe that lack of activity is a health issue of national importance. Millions of Americans don't exercise regularly despite the unprecedented awareness for the need for it. This important decision faces every adult in every country, however. After exercising, you typically feel really good and that is due mostly to brain chemistry. Twenty to thirty minutes of exercise causes your brain to release endorphins. The proteins that make up endorphins, also called neurotransmitters, act like a natural pain reliever. But the thing about them is they are responsible for a varying feeling of euphoria, or natural high, that often accompanies strenuous activity for the required time. This pleasant feeling helps form a strong, positive association with exercise in your mind.

Exercise can also be good for your sexual health, as quite a bit of research suggests. Improved fitness can enhance your enjoyment of sex, and give you the energy to engage in it more frequently. The benefits in this area for men come about due to the increased amount of blood circulation.

You can have longer lasting erections as a result of this enhanced blood circulation. Parking a little farther away from the store is a good way to get more foot time. Aside from the measurable benefits of physical fitness, there are those that are harder to pinpoint. Increased well being is one such benefit that's difficult to define, but nevertheless it's something many people who exercise report.
