Is Wearing Same Prom Dresses for 2013 Bad?

By Rob Sutter

Should there be a great deal of attention placed into the act of wearing the same clothes as someone else? If anything, I believe that it should be something of a compliment because it shows that the two people have similar clothing tastes and work with similar styles as well. However, I do know that there are some concerns when it comes to prom dresses for 2013. No one wants to look the same as someone else and these ladies have taken initiative on the matter.

The New York Post posted an article and it talked greatly about how teenage girls were starting to make use of social media networks so that the occurrence of same prom dresses for 2013 would not befall them. To me, this is excellent because it means that people within these groups will be able to stake claim to certain gowns. They know which girl is wearing what and, as a result, allows them a lesser chance of showing up wearing the same attire. These ladies can exercise their creativity thanks to companies along the lines of Estelle's.

Along with Twitter and Instagram as well, there have been photos of these gowns posted and I think that it goes without saying that this helps. These ladies will be able to enlist the opinions of their peers to see whether or not the dress type is best suited for them. I think that, as long as matters are kept at a mature level, then this plan is practically fool-proof. There have been a number of campuses which have taken this idea and implemented it already, too.

Quite a few schools within the New York and New Jersey areas have shown support for this. According to the article, such campuses as New Dorp High School in Staten Island and Bayonne High School in New Jersey have definitely showed that they are willing to let students compare and claim various dress types. I believe that the element of creativity has spread even wider than the companies who are tasked with tailoring the downs. It seems like even the schools understand the benefits.

Before coming across this story, I never saw the big deal about people going about matters the same as others, as long as they were good. I am one of those people who will call out the people I'm with if they complain about someone ordering the same entre as they did. Nonetheless, I know that prom dresses for 2013 are of far greater value because they symbolize nights that people will remember. Who's to say that students of other schools won't make use of this in the future?
