The Best Way To Lose Weight And Keep It Off

By Cindy Burgenstein

Do you love the way you look in the mirror without your clothes? Do you enjoy the thought of other people seeing you in your underwear? Ok, me neither. Most people today are overweight, and could easily stand to lose a few pounds. If you'd like to do this, then I've got great news for you. By the time you finish reading this, you'll know some inside secrets to losing weight.

The first thing to get your mind around is that losing weight is not a one time process, like having your wisdom teeth removed. Sure we'd like to go to bed tonight, and wake up skinny, but it takes time. Those that think they can suck it up and diet for a couple of weeks and not gain everything right back are usually in for a surprise.

The best way to think about it is to think of it as a slow change in lifestyle. Not an abrupt change, like swearing off ice cream for good, but a slow, gradual change. If you make it slow enough it won't seem like such a big deal. Think of it like turning a big ship, it takes a while, but once it's done, it's done. The new direction is automatic.

The first step in your new lifestyle is to incorporate some kind of exercise in your daily routine. Maybe go for a walk every night, or do a couple of sit ups in the morning, or do some yoga. The most important thing is to do something that you are comfortable with. That way it won't be very hard to motivate yourself to do them. And after a week or so, they'll seem like part of your normal routine. When that happens, you can add more.

Of course, you'll also need to adjust your eating habits. Here the same rule applies. Slower is better. Change one or two meals a week from fast food to healthy food. Skip the ice cream once a week. Go for the diet soda instead of the regular soda once in a while.

When you understand that the biggest and most powerful secret to losing weight is to go slow, you'll be on the fast track to a healthy and slim body.
