Staying fit and Healthy Isn't Hard

By Dr Graeme Teague

Do you spend time thinking about your need to live a healthier lifestyle and then derail it all by doing something unhealthy like reaching for a milkshake? Have you found yourself groaning about getting in shape while panting your way up the stairs only to reach for another cigarette? Being healthy and fit does not have to be a chore. Being healthy and fit doesn't have to even be all that difficult. It's actually pretty easy to stay healthy and get into shape. You can be the healthy person you want to be easily when you know the right moves to make. You can see for yourself when you follow these tips.

You already know the importance of exercising. But don't be one of those people who think that they need to do excruciating workouts every day. That's not the truth. The truth is that your muscles won't ever get stronger if you don't give them time to heal. Muscles don't improve by tearing the tissue down, but only through a proper rest period. You would do well to workout vigorously for one day and then take it a little bit easier the next day. For example, you could do a full workout on Monday, Wednesday and then on Friday. You can then go easier on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays by going for a brisk walk or by doing some pushups or pull-ups.

How many times have you been told to get more exercise. This often gets repeated because it is true. Regular exercise on a consistent basis is important. The body needs regular movement to keep from being lethargic. Build up your energy levels by moving regularly. Your muscles will not allow you to do what you need to do if you do not use them regularly. Exercise keeps your blood pumping which keeps your organs functioning and your blood vessels open. Some exercise in order to get ripped but it's not necessary for most people. You exercise because you need to stay alive and exercise and regular movement will help you do that.

Your workout should include the whole body. Many idiots think exercise is simply weightlifting or jogging from time to time. This may be better than no exercise but it's still not true. You should work your entire body, muscles, heart, bones, etc in order to truly be healthy. A good workout involves strength training, endurance training and cardiovascular training. This can all be done in less than 30 minutes a day. It's worth your time to get healthy.

There are all sorts of ways to stay healthy. It's even possible without constant running or a steady diet of vegetables. Taking time to care for yourself and making wise decisions is being healthy. Beginning with a good diet is a smart decision. Include a little movement in your daily routine. It means taking care of yourself. Once you do these things you will feel so much better!
